schools, dental schools, ArchitecturalAssociation School of Architecture etc.
Any institutions of further educa~ion should bs coded 4, 5, 6, or 9 as
appropriate. The school codes 1-3 should be restricted to secondary level
schools.
my cases vhere informants say they attend Technical School part-time should ha
queried. It is more likely that the informant is attending Technical College.
During vacations those who have finished a course but are awaiting the results
of examinations should have answered Qn.3 referring to the school or college.
They will be going to, assuming the exams will be passed. Stiihrly those about
to start a new course who are not waiting for examination results should have
answered W. 3 referring b the course they ara about the start.
Foreign schcwls or colleges mentioned at Qn.3 should be includsd in the
e@valent British cOde.
Accept as a ‘recognised educational institution’premises taken over by a rrS
schsme, and use code 9 at @. 3 if neceesary.
If the informant is coded 1-5 at Qn. 2, check that one of precedes 4-9 is ringed
at Qn. 3, Codes 1-3 should not be ringed. Use code 9 if the informant iS
