Attracti<strong>on</strong>s are generally single unit, individual sites with easily defined<br />

geographical areas based <strong>on</strong> a single key feature.<br />

Destinati<strong>on</strong>s are usually larger areas that include many attracti<strong>on</strong>s with support<br />

services <strong>and</strong> infrastructure such as transportati<strong>on</strong> networks <strong>and</strong> accommodati<strong>on</strong>.<br />

There is a str<strong>on</strong>g link between attracti<strong>on</strong>s <strong>and</strong> destinati<strong>on</strong>s. On <strong>on</strong>e h<strong>and</strong>, a major<br />

attracti<strong>on</strong> makes a destinati<strong>on</strong> more appealing to tourists <strong>and</strong> can stimulate the<br />

image are usually good locati<strong>on</strong>s to develop <strong>and</strong> build an attracti<strong>on</strong>. H<strong>on</strong>g K<strong>on</strong>g is<br />

an example where Disney chose to locate their <strong>theme</strong> park close to the southern<br />

China market.<br />
