Collaboration with Elle Deco Magazine Japan<br />

Since one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> strategies adopted by <strong>the</strong> Trade<br />

Division in FY 2010 was to re-position <strong>the</strong> ASEAN products<br />

in <strong>the</strong> Japanese market so that <strong>the</strong>re are perceived as<br />

products <strong>of</strong> high quality <strong>and</strong> value, deliberate efforts were<br />

made to collaborate with media firms in line with <strong>the</strong><br />

strategy.<br />

“Elle Deco Japan” has been established for more than 18<br />

years with 70,000 circulations per issue (bi-monthly<br />

magazine). Its target includes people in <strong>the</strong> industry such as<br />

architects, interior designers, buyers <strong>and</strong> general consumers<br />

who are very keen on design, quality <strong>and</strong> lifestyle.<br />

A representative from Elle Deco was dispatched to <strong>the</strong><br />

selected ASEAN Member Countries to report on <strong>the</strong><br />

potential designers <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir products which were<br />

subsequently featured in “Elle Deco Japan” (June issue).<br />

For greater impact, a 4- page advertorial was created as<br />

part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> “Exhibitor Directory”. Over 2,000 copies were<br />

distributed.<br />
