1. ASEAN Investment Promotion Seminar in Japan<br />
a) Outline<br />
The program provided each ASEAN Member Country <strong>the</strong> opportunity to<br />
update <strong>the</strong> Japanese business community on its latest economic climate <strong>and</strong><br />
investment opportunities. Investment promotion seminars were organized in<br />
cooperation with local government agencies, chambers <strong>of</strong> commerce <strong>and</strong><br />
industries, <strong>and</strong> embassies <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> ASEAN Member Countries in Japan.<br />
Representatives from Japanese companies operating in <strong>the</strong> member countries were<br />
also invited to share <strong>the</strong>ir experience <strong>of</strong> doing business in <strong>the</strong> member countries.<br />
In addition, visits <strong>and</strong> meetings with <strong>the</strong> Japanese Government, organizations,<br />
companies <strong>and</strong> potential investors were arranged. Additional investment<br />
promotion materials were also published under this program.<br />
