Learner autonomy entails creating a learner-centred environment wherethe learning outcomes and learning process are negotiated by students andteachers with learners assuming more and more responsibility for their ownlearning.8. Learner autonomy is an attitude and a philosophy which are graduallydeveloped among teachers and learners in the LC in which they both havea shared perspective to decide on responsibilities, choices and ways ofimplementing them in the process of assessing needs, monitoring progress andcontinuing to learn.9.
