For this reason, it may be useful to preparestudents to use metaphor and gesture when they go abroad. In the followingsection we look at how this might be done.How can we prepare students for their year abroad at a <strong>British</strong> university?Studies have shown that some lecturers who are experienced communicators withinternational students tend to avoid using a lot of metaphor.
