Styrofoam Brand Plaza Deck insulation is designed for use above waterproofing membranes in plaza and parking roofdeck construction and in other areas where high compressive strength insulation is required. Styrofoam Brand Square Edge, StyrofoamBrand Tongue & Groove, and DOW Grayboard insulations are intended for use beneath loose-laid and ballasted or mechanically attachedsheet membranes in roof construction. Styrofoam Lightguard brand insulation is intended for use above waterproofing membranes in roofconstruction. Styrofoam Lightguard is not designed to serve as a plaza deck. Although the concrete surface is suitable for most foot traffic(excluding hard wheeled carts) it is not a satisfactory surface for general pedestrian traffic or plaza use. Dow specifications require theroofing assembly be designed to prevent air penetration under the membrane. Any billowing of the membrane voids the Dow warranty.~ Styrofoam brand insulations and DOW Grayboard have poor resistance to aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, ole fins,napthas, ketones, gasoline, fuel oil, and oil-based paint. Maximum service temperature: 165 F. ~: Styrofoam brand insulations andDOW Grayboard insulation will burn and should be handled and installed properly. For proper use, consult applicable building coderequirements, fire regulations, and specific instructions in literature available from your supplier or The Dow Chemical Company, Midland,MI 48674. S~cific instructions: All roor deck and wall systems incorporating Styroroam brand insulation or DOW Grayboard insulationshould provide adequate fire protection. Roor deck coverings such as IS-minute thermal barriers or other alternatives based on buildingcode-approveddiversified tests are regarded as acceptable in most applications.
