insulation panel.Ultra/M: UL Oass A approved for use in ballasted and mechanically attached systems only. Contact Homasote Company forcompatibility recommendations.Ultra/M-Il AEF: Factory Mutual approved for PM-I Systems. Provides a universally accepted facer for most single-ply and BURmembranes. It also provides a high bond strength between foam and facer that is important in fully adhered single-ply roofing systems. This facer helps add dimensional stability to the panel to resist crushing and adds to its overall strength. Contact Homasote Company forsingle-ply compatibilityrecommendations.16. HUEBERT FIBERBOARD, INC.HFB Insulation Board: Contact Huebert Fiberboard, Inc. for any information on limitations or restrictions.17. KOPPERS INDUSrRIES, INC.Refer to Koppers current literature for additional product information, application instructions, and technical details. Contact KoppersSales and Service Center at 800-SS8-2~ for additional information and assistance.18. LUCAS SALES COMPANY, INC.rLucas Lite Taoered Extruded Polvstvrene: Lucas Lite is practical for building roofs having normal roof temperature conditions, but shouldnot be used in contact with chimneys, heat vents, steam pipes, or other surfaces where temperatures exceed ISO F. It is not recommendedfor unballasted applications where sustained roof temperatures exceed 165 F. or intermittent temperatures exceeding 180 F. Lucas Liteis recommended for flat roofs only (less than 2:12 slope). Lucas Lite is not to be applied with plastic, oil, or solvent-based roof cements.Lucas Lite will provide slope on flat roof decks. Deflected areas or low spots should be filled to provide a relatively level deck for the newtapered system. The Lucas Taoered Svstem: UL Desilm Numbers: POOl, 1'004, P201, P202, P203, P204, P20S, P206, P210, P211, P221, P224, P225, P230,P232, P233, P237, P238, P243, P252, P404. Buildin~ Codes: ICBO 3549, BOCA 8336, SBCCI 80108. Limitations and/or restrictions: LucasTapered System is not structural in nature; while highly moisture resistant, it should not be left exposed to the elements. Therefore, nomore insulation should be applied than can be completely protected the same day. Lucas Tapered System is not designed for direct trafficunless appropriately protected. Lucas Tapered System is not acceptable for applications where it shall be exposed to direct interface withcontinuous soaking temperatures of 250 F. Lucas Tapered System will provide slope on flat roof decks. Deflected areas or low spotsshould be filled to provide a relatively level deck for new tapered roof insulation system. When applying directly over metal decks, 3/4"thickness at low points is recommended as a minimum. Check flute span requirements for specific minimum thickness requirements.19. MANVILLEFesco Board. Fes-Core. Fesco-Foam. UltraGard Gold. UltraGard Premier. and 1/2" Retro-Fit Board: Restrictions: Temoerature: Manvilleinsulation products are not recommended for continuous use at temperatures over 200 F. (93 c). Storage: All insulation boards must bemaintained in a dry condition prior to installation. See the Manville Industrial/Commercial Roofing Systems Manual for additionalinformation on storage. Cold weather application: For ambient temperatures below 40 degrees F. the use of hot bitumen application isnot recommended due to the rapid cooling of the bitumen. Direct torchin~: Manville does not recommend that roof membranes bedirectly torched to any Manville insulation not designed for direct torch application. A base sheet should be applied to the surface of theinsulation and the torchable membrane torched to the base sheet. Mechanical fasteners: Manville recommends the use of mechanicalfasteners for the attachment of Manville roof insulation products to steel decks. The correct number and type, per the Factory MutualApproval Guide should be used. Manville also recommends that the mechanical fasteners used should have a quality corrosion resistantcoating, such as Manville's Ultra Fast's and Buildex's Climaseal coating, to reduce the chance of fastener failure due to corrosion.Attachment of Manville Roof Insulation to other types of roof decks by the appropriate mechanical fastener is acceptable to Manville.Adhesive application: All Manville roof insulation is compatible with hot bitumen. The facer used on Ultragard Gold is compatible withasphalt and many single-ply bonding adhesives used for fully adhered single-ply systems; check with Manville or single-ply supplier forinformation on compatibility of the particular adhesive being used. Manville Roof Insulation can be attached to decks, where appropriate, with hot bitumen. Limitations: The values listed herein are typical nominal values obtained under laboratory conditions using industrystandard test methods. These values are subject to change at any time without notice. When calculating the anticipated thermalperformance over the expected life of isocyanurate products, Manville suggests the use of an R-value of S.S6 per inch of foam thickncss. For the long-term design R-value of phenolic products, Manville suggests the use of an R-value of 8.33 per inch of foam thickness.20. NORD BITUMI U.S. INc.Nordboard: The composition of Nordboard provides a dimensionally stable product that is a rigid thermal insulation board with a modifiedasphalt face which allows for the direct application of Nordpoly. Nordboard must be mechanically fastened. Since no base sheet isrequired, labor time is reduced. In addition, Nordboard is lightweight, making handling and transportation easy.c".398
