Exhibit ___ (EIOP-19)Page 63 of 684Steel TowersThere are approximately 3,790 steel towers on the sub-transmission system, 3 themajority of which are 60-90 years old. Above ground inspection of towers andassociated equipment is coordinated through the Inspection and Maintenance Program,which also identifies towers that require further engineering analysis.Drivers:Corrosion is the natural life limiting failure mechanism for towers. Replacement is calledfor when it is more economic to replace the entire tower than to replace or performwelding repairs to a number of steel members. Where condition renders the asset unable toperform its intended electrical or mechanical function on the delivery system, theCompany initiates the timely replacement of such asset under the Damage/Failurespending rationale.
