More than a decade after their initial appearance (see previous lot), the two-toned
waiters are still on duty, though have found a more rigid, geometric form. This is the
����������������������������������������������������������������������������������
in 1953. Loupot needed little beyond the basic trademark and the colors of the two
available versions of the quinquina to sell the product. This is the smaller format.

One of three designs that Loupot created for Canton Furriers in Lausanne, this
������������������������������������������������������������������������
������������������ see PAI-LIII, 326). In the early 1930s, the background color
changed to blue and would remain so throughout a variety of address changes
for the company. This is the third edition in the series with the Rue de Bourg
address, printed from the same lithographic stones as the original. Asked why
black background was replaced by blue over time, the current chief of operations,
Richard Canton, revealed that the change came about because blue provided better
visibility during the winter months.

is an ever-popular destination for seaside amusements. Here, its 20 health clubs,
50 tennis courts, casino, and golf courses are promoted below while a fantasy
world of costumed dandies, curvaceous sunbathers, equestriennes, theatrical
performers, and the general haute monde wander the perfectly-preened paths
along the shore.
