Originally a carriage-making corporation founded by
a Swiss manufacturer in Cincinnati, the Brunswick-
Balke Collender Corporation quickly moved into the
billiards business. Here, a buxom and sassy young
woman is seen leaning over one of their signature
tables, a dapper gentleman taking this opportunity
to get a better view of her assets from behind. While
some would call this leering, the presence of Cupid
puts his activities entirely above board. A rare and
beautiful image by an artist whose signature appears
rather indecipherable (but our best guess is Naredo).
Est: $2,000-$2,500
railroad and steamship lines, this poster combines
charming illustrations of tourist destinations
alongside photomontage depictions of the interiors
San Francisco, after which one can continue on to
the Far East via one of the many weekly steamer
expeditions.
A tranquil and relaxing view of Lake Geneva, in
which everything from tugs to riverboats are seen
bustling around the waterway. In the distance, grassy
hills followed by the white peaks of Mont Blanc
graze the skyline. Particularly accurate in its detail,
even the Jet d’Eau, a geyser of a fountain propelling
air, can be seen to the far left. Originally designed
