de l’Oeuvre’s production of Venise sauvée (Venice<br />

take the sinuous forms of Symbolism, as well as an<br />

expressive statement of his conviction regarding<br />

the interaction between decorative and emotional<br />

elements present in the Art Nouveau style. <strong>The</strong><br />

English Restoration play by Thomas Otway was<br />
