Introduction1.1 The purpose of this strategy is to set out a strategic direction for further developing our<strong>Information</strong> Assurance (IA) capability and effectively embedding an IA culture across<strong>Lincolnshire</strong> <strong>Police</strong>. This strategy is based upon the <strong>Police</strong> <strong>Information</strong> Assurance<strong>Strategy</strong> and provides information on the requirements placed on <strong>Lincolnshire</strong> <strong>Police</strong>under the ACPO/ACPOS Community Security Policy, such as the HMG IA Maturity Modeland Assessment Framework, and modular Code of Connection and Risk ManagedAccreditation Document Sets for police systems. This <strong>Strategy</strong> supports theimplementation of the HMG National <strong>Information</strong> Assurance <strong>Strategy</strong> (NIAS) and<strong>Information</strong> Systems Improvement <strong>Strategy</strong> (ISIS) programme. Additionally the<strong>Management</strong> of <strong>Police</strong> <strong>Information</strong> (MoPI) Code of Practice (CoP) dictates that the ChiefOfficer will establish and maintain within their force an <strong>Information</strong> Assurance <strong>Strategy</strong>(IAS), under the direction of an officer of ACPO rank or equivalent, complying withguidance and standards to be issued under the <strong>Management</strong> of <strong>Police</strong> <strong>Information</strong> (MoPI)Code of Practice (CoP) unless that guidance is superseded by regulations made by theSecretary of State under section 53A of the <strong>Police</strong> Act 1996.1.2 Policing is an increasingly information-led activity.
