International Student AdmissionsInternational students are persons who are not citizens orresidents of the United States of America who enter theU.S. for the purpose of studying at a U.S. educationalfacility. International students require a student visa toenter the U.S. for the purpose of studying.To attend <strong>Arizona</strong> <strong>Western</strong> <strong>College</strong>, international studentsmust:• be 18 years of age or have completed secondary education• complete and submit an international admissions application,signed by the applicant• submit a non-refundable $25.00 processing fee• submit secondary academic transcripts, certified andtranslated to English• submit financial evidence to meet one year living andcollege expenses at <strong>Arizona</strong> <strong>Western</strong> <strong>College</strong>• provide proof of U.S. medical/accident insurance orpurchase insurance upon arrival at <strong>Arizona</strong> <strong>Western</strong><strong>College</strong>• meet one of the following English language requirements:• submit proof of a score of 500 or higher on thepaper based Test of English as a Foreign Language(TOEFL); 173 on the computer based test• other proof of English proficiency (IELTS)• enroll in <strong>Arizona</strong> <strong>Western</strong> <strong>College</strong> English as aSecond Language course workStudents planning to live in the residence halls must submitthe following documents in addition to the collegeadmission application:• a residence hall application• proof of immunizations: 1 & 2 MMR (measles, mumps,and rubella)AWC welcomes citizens from the bordering countriesof Canada and Mexico as full-time international students,responsible for meeting all international student requirements.AWC participates in the F-3 Border Commuterstudent program which allows students from borderingcountries to commute daily from their homes to the collegefor the purpose of attending classes. For informationand questions regarding international student admissionscontact the International Student Programs Office at(928) 344-7699 or email at intstudent@azwestern.eduE. <strong>Western</strong> Undergraduate Exchange ProgramThe <strong>Western</strong> Undergraduate Exchange Program (WUE) isa student exchange program coordinated by the <strong>Western</strong>Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE),and administered by the <strong>Arizona</strong> Board of Regents.Students who are residents of Alaska, California, Colorado,Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, NorthDakota, South Dakota, Oregon, Utah, Washington,and Wyoming are eligible for the WUE program andpay 150 percent of the regular resident tuition plus fees.Students must submit an application for the WUE programin addition to the application for admission to theEnrollment Services Office and provide documentationsupporting residency in the state which legal domicile isclaimed, i.e., state taxes, driver’s license, etc.F. Colorado River ConsortiumThe Colorado River Educational Compact is a higher educationpartnership that allows selected students greateraccess to the quality instruction and related services providedby <strong>Arizona</strong> <strong>Western</strong> <strong>College</strong> and the other partnerinstitutions. The compact establishes a tuition reciprocityprogram to enable selected undergraduate students from<strong>Arizona</strong> and California to attend participating communitycolleges without paying out of state tuition.In order to participate in the program, a student mustbe an established resident of California (proof of residencyis required and must be submitted with an application)and able to meet <strong>Arizona</strong> <strong>Western</strong> <strong>College</strong> admission criteriaand submit an admission application.Students are selected for program participation in theorder their applications are received, except that preferencefor selection is given to students living in thethree California counties (Imperial, Riverside, and SanBernadino) adjacent to the Colorado River in accordancewith the following program application deadlines:Fall Semester. ...........
