After you and your academic advisor have completedthe EAP form (including any additional or developmentalcourses which you may require) and have signed the form,all students are to return the EAP form to Counseling andAdvisement Services, which will then distribute copies of theEAP to the appropriate offices on-campus.Step 7GraduationBy filling out the EAP, you will know how manysemesters it will take you to complete all program requirements.In the final semester of your enrollment, you shouldapply for graduation. The graduation policies and proceduresof AWC are as followsTo graduate from AWC, the student must:• meet the basic requirements for an associate degree orcertificate, as listed in the General Program Requirementssection of this catalogNote: a minimum of a “C” grade and a minimum 2.0 G.P.A.is required for all courses in a certificate or degree programThe graduation fee covers the cost of processing, ceremony,and diploma. Students not completing graduationrequirements within ten months of the original ApplicationDeadline date will be charged an additional graduation fee.Additional Degree and/or MajorA student may earn recognition of an additional major, subjectto the following stipulations:• All degree and major requirements must be completed.• Students must apply through the normal graduation applicationprocess.Academic DistinctionStudents who have achieved a grade-point average of 3.400or above will receive academic honors upon completion ofthe degree.Academic Distinction (degrees only):Highest .............................3.900-4.000High ...............................3.600-3.899Distinction ...........................3.400-3.599General Information• provide an official AWC transcript and any othertransfer credit documentation including advancedplacement credit, military transcripts, CLEP scores, etc.• complete the Learning Outcomes Assessment at the AWCTesting Center• file a completed Application for Graduation form withthe Enrollment Services Office and pay the required nonrefundablegraduation fee in accordance with the followingtime schedule:Students who complete the requirements of an AGEC-A, Bor S but do not complete a transfer degree must fill out andsubmit a graduation application to be awarded the AGECCertificate and have the certificate noted on their transcript.Term of Expected Graduation Application DeadlineFall .................1st Monday in NovemberSpring ..................1st Monday in MarchSummer ..................1st Monday in June• clear any indebtedness to the college before degree/certificate requirements will be certified or the degree/certificate will be awarded• meet in full the requirements for graduation set forth inthis catalogAWC 2009–2010 C atalog27
