It includes life skillsprogrammes, Information Education and Communicationmaterials, HIV and AIDS prevention, pregnancy prevention,sexuality and relationship education, family life education,reproductive health education, and abstinence onlyprogrammes. Many young people, especially those indeveloping countries, face challenges such as HIV and AIDS,other sexually transmitted infections (STIs), unplannedteenage pregnancies, gender inequality and discrimination.Numerous organisations worldwide have developedinterventions to address these challenges, in this Workbookreferred to as SRHR/HIV prevention interventions.Outcome Monitoring and evaluation planThis Workbook demonstrates the step by step design of anoutcome Monitoring and Evaluation Plan (outcome M&E Plan).‘Monitoring’ refers to the tracking of programme activitiesby measuring on a regular, ongoing basis whether plannedactivities are being carried out according to the schedule orplan. ‘Evaluation’ is a process that measures whether programmeoutcomes are achieved, and determines the impact of theprogramme in the target population. An M&E plan is theentire design of monitoring and evaluation, including methodsand timing. It also contains decisions such as whether to includea comparison group or not, to do a pre-test and/or a post-test,which groups and how many will be involved, and how toselect the respondents. Keep in mind that this Workbookdoes not address the day to day monitoring of outputs andactivities of the programme.
