Al, <strong>alum<strong>in</strong>ium</strong>. Rats were sacrificed two days after lesion<strong>in</strong>g. Data are expressed as<br />

means ± SD from five rats (n = 5). Significance <strong>of</strong> differences among groups was<br />

assessed by a one-way ANOVA followed by a Bonferroni‟s test. Asterisks, pads and<br />

section sign denote values significantly different from the correspond<strong>in</strong>g controls:<br />

control, control+Al, 6-OHDA respectively (*, # , § , p < 0.05; **, # # , §§ , p < 0.01; *** p <<br />
