LINK StatementThe LINK statement is used to specify a network adapter or BIU on the current LOCALNET that is a gatewayto some other local network.Name Statement Parameters[label] LINK MODEL = nxxxNETADDR = nnT0 = labelT1 = labelT2 = labelT3 = labelPORT= 0 | 1 | 2 | 3[ADAPT = label]For non-SLS links only:[MODE710 = nn]The following control words are used in the LINK statement.labelThis optional label specifies a symbolic name for this link. The label may be any name desired by theuser which is from one to eight alphanumeric characters long. It must be unique from all other labelsin the network configuration. This label is optional unless this LINK statement is defining port 0 of amultiport x4xx link.LINKThis is the verb for this statement.MODELThis required parameter specifies the type of link adapter or BIU.NETADDRThis required parameter specifies the eight-bit hexadecimal address or addresses of the link adapter orBIU on the local network. The operand must be expressed as two hexadecimal digits. It must beunique from all other NETADDRs in this specific LOCALNET. In the case of the A710 adapter, itshould contain the same setting as is found on the back of the A710 adapter. The A710 is unique inthat the switch settings do not reflect the actual address of the adapter. One to eight ranges of 32 addressesare selected based on the bit pattern specified by the hexadecimal value in the switches,The S720 Satellite Link Subsystem (SLS) consists of two basic units: the A721 Transmit Adapter andthe A722 Receive Adapter. Only the S720 needs to be described in the configuration when definingan SLS. The S720’s NETADDR specifies the A721 network address. The corresponding A722ALWAYS has an address that is one greater than the A721. No other adapter on this local networkmay specify the same NETADDR as the A721 or A722. The A721 and A722 Adapters are implicitlydefined when the S720 is defined. The A715 link has as its NETADDR the address of the SLS in 720-mode. This represents a singleaddress, not two addresses as does the basic S720 link described above.P/NB70x links have as their NETADDR the base address used for SLS 720 mode operation (as withthe 715 units).T0, T1, T2, and T3These parameters, which are required when using A71x and S720 link adapters, define the trunks thatare attached to the link adapter. At least ONE operand must be defined for each link. The associatedPage 102 Configuration Manager MAN-REF-H307IP-04
