Attendance and behaviourBehaviour PoliciesEvery school has a behaviour policy, which sets out a code <strong>of</strong> conduct <strong>of</strong> behaviour that is expectedfrom every child, <strong>the</strong>ir family and <strong>the</strong> whole school community.The purpose <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> code is <strong>to</strong> ensure that <strong>the</strong> school is a safe place for everyone, where individuals arerespected and valued and where children can learn in an environment that encourages and rewardsgood behaviour.For information about behaviour policies please contact individual schools.Behaviour on TransportParents or carers and children <strong>the</strong>mselves are responsible for <strong>the</strong>ir behaviour on transport. The busopera<strong>to</strong>rs reserve <strong>the</strong> right <strong>to</strong> withdraw travel permits for anyone who continues <strong>to</strong> behaveinappropriately on public transport. If this happens <strong>the</strong> City Council will not make any o<strong>the</strong>r travelarrangements <strong>to</strong> support <strong>the</strong> attendance <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> child concerned at school. Responsibility for ensuringattendance at school rests with <strong>the</strong> parent or carer.Exclusion <strong>of</strong> Pupils from SchoolIf a child’s behaviour is unacceptable and a headteacher finds it necessary <strong>to</strong> exclude your child fromschool, you have <strong>the</strong> right <strong>to</strong> have your say <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> school governors. The head teacher must inform you,in writing, <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> period <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> exclusion and <strong>the</strong> reason for <strong>the</strong> decision. Multi-disciplinary support is made available through an experienced team<strong>of</strong> teachers, teaching assistants, a school health advisor, an <strong>education</strong>al welfare <strong>of</strong>ficer, parent supportadvisor, Connexions personal advisor and a drugs and alcohol misuse worker.Currently Linhope has pupils in Key <strong>stage</strong>s 2,3,4. Older pupils work <strong>to</strong>wards a wide range <strong>of</strong>accreditation.
