6.3.6 Each person on the working plat<strong>for</strong>m should be provided with a safetyharness <strong>and</strong> an independent lifeline or an eye bolt as specified in clause6.3.4. No more than one lanyard should be anchored to each independentlifeline or eye bolt.6.3.7 Notices in English <strong>and</strong> Chinese in the following <strong>for</strong>ms should be displayedprominently on the suspended working plat<strong>for</strong>m (regulations 15(3) <strong>and</strong>19(2)(b) <strong>of</strong> the SWPR):(i)(ii)‘All wire ropes shall be inspected prior to commencement <strong>of</strong> daily work’<strong>and</strong>‘Every person riding on a suspended working plat<strong>for</strong>m shall wear asafety belt properly attached to an independent lifeline or anappropriate anchorage6.4 <strong>Use</strong> in Adverse Weather Conditions6.4.1 <strong>Suspended</strong> working plat<strong>for</strong>m should not be used under weather conditionslikely to endanger its stability or cause danger to the persons carriedthereon (regulation 18(1) <strong>of</strong> the SWPR).6.4.2 When winds give rise to unsatisfactory working conditions, work shouldbe stopped until the winds subside. Wind conditions which arise duringthe use <strong>of</strong> suspended working plat<strong>for</strong>ms can do damage to the buildingsthey serve <strong>and</strong> the ropes on which the working plat<strong>for</strong>ms are suspended.<strong>Suspended</strong> working plat<strong>for</strong>m should not be used where there is thunder<strong>and</strong> storm in the vicinity, during rainy periods or when a strong wind signalis hoisted.6.4.3 After exposure to weather conditions likely to have affected the stability<strong>of</strong> the suspended working plat<strong>for</strong>m, the suspended working plat<strong>for</strong>mshould be load tested <strong>and</strong> thoroughly examined by a competent examineras soon as practicable thereafter <strong>and</strong> be<strong>for</strong>e the suspended workingplat<strong>for</strong>m is used again. In the event <strong>of</strong> the anchorage, ballast,counterbalance or supports being found on examination to be unsafe,steps should be taken to ensure the stability <strong>of</strong> the suspended workingplat<strong>for</strong>m (regulation 18(2) <strong>of</strong> the SWPR).42
