1.2.2 Reference should be made to other relevant legislation, including :(i)(ii)(iii)sections 6A and 6B of the FIUO;the Factories and Industrial Undertakings (Lifting Appliances andLifting Gear) Regulations (hereinafter called LALGR);the Construction Sites (Safety) Regulations (hereinafter calledCSSR);(iv) Buildings Ordinance, Cap 123; and(v) Engineers Registration Ordinance, Cap. 409.1.2.3 Throughout this Code, relevant safety standards of the British StandardsInstitution are usually quoted. However, if there are some otherinternational standards or provisions which are equal in standard as thosementioned, they would be acceptable as an alternative. In addition,statutory provisions referred to or cited in this Code are those in force asat 1st January 1999.1.2.4 This Code is not intended to cover the safety requirements of the followingchairs or platforms which are used for carrying persons:(i)(ii)(iii)sky chairs whose safety requirements are covered by LALGR;boatswain’s chairs whose safety requirements are covered by CSSRand LALGR; anda working platform suspended by a mobile crane or a tower cranefor which the safety requirements are governed by LALGR and theCode of Practice for safe use of mobile cranes and tower cranes.4
