RECAP Software User's GuidePart 2: StandardWrite Error ModeCSC, Terminal, Tower-Determines how units react when they are unable tosuccessfully encode a card with its new cash or copy balance at the end of avend. Two settings are available:• WARNING - A message is displayed in the unit’s display window to notifythe user of invalid data.• RETAIN - The message CALL FOR SERVICE is displayed, and the invalidcard is held in the card reader until an authorized vending staff membercomes to retrieve it.NoteAlthough a control unit stores the data that it attempted to encode on aninvalid card (allowing an authorized staff member to retrieve the data forre-encoding to the card), this data will be overwritten when the nextunsuccessful write occurs. The entries on the unit configuration screenare generally the same for Accumulators, Card Service Centers, Terminals,and Towers.The descriptive name that identifies this specific unit configuration-forinstance, Swipe Unit Control contains the parameters required for SwipeAccumulator operations.The unique address of the control unit.The model of the control unit. For units with Transaction Logging capability,select the model designation which is followed by “- Trans”This entry represents the cost group that you want associated with this unit.The cost group sets the equipment usage fees and site codes for this unit.These cost groups were created earlier in this chapter.This entry represents the control group that you want associated with this unit.The control group sets the operating options of various units. These controlgroups were created earlier in this chapter.This entry represents the account group that you want associated with thisunit. The account group controls which account are downloaded to a particularcontrol unit.(Does not apply to the accumulator.) This entry represents the Card Numbergroup that you want associated with this unit as a Hot List. The Csn Hot Listgroup controls which cards are deactivated by a particular control unit.
