RECAP Software User's GuidePart 2: StandardWrite Error ModeCSC, Terminal, Tower-Determines how units react when they are unable tosuccessfully encode a card with its new cash or copy balance at the end of avend. Two settings are available:• WARNING - A message is displayed in the unit’s display window to notifythe user of invalid data.• RETAIN - The message CALL FOR SERVICE is displayed, and the invalidcard is held in the card reader until an authorized vending staff membercomes to retrieve it.NoteAlthough a control unit stores the data that it attempted to encode on aninvalid card (allowing an authorized staff member to retrieve the data forre-encoding to the card), this data will be overwritten when the nextunsuccessful write occurs. Setting the unit to RETAIN cards ensures thatthe card data stored by the unit corresponds to the card held in the unit. This prevents disputes between staff and users over the card value.2-20 Planning the Standard Setup Parameters Planning the Control Group Parameters
