3.10.2.32 Any defects or concerns raised by the City of Cape Town Electricity Services must be
rectified before those set-pieces may be installed.
3.10.3 SET-PIECE MAINTENANCE SPECIFICATION
3.10.3.1 Before maintenance work commences, the scope of work, material and labour quantities
must be agreed with the City of Cape Town Electricity Services for each set-piece.
3.10.3.2 All damaged rope lights, fairy lights and wiring, that were pointed out by the City of Cape
Town Electricity Services, must be marked and stripped from the set-pieces.
3.10.3.3 All damaged welds, which were pointed out by the City of Cape Town Electricity Services,
must be marked and re-welded.
3.10.3.4 It must be ensured that the set-piece still looks like the design that it was made from. If any
of the metal parts are missing, it needs to be pointed out by the City of Cape Town
Electricity Services and replaced by the Contractor. If any of the metal parts are bent it
needs to be straightened to the original design.
3.10.3.5 In the case where it is pointed out by the City of Cape Town Electricity Services that the
paintwork is not in a satisfactory condition, the paint on the set-piece must be removed and
cleaned.
3.10.3.6 After the set-piece is cleaned and dried, the set-piece may be sprayed according to the
design.
3.10.3.7 The set-pieces that must be spray painted, must first be sprayed with a primer. Ensure that
two (2) layers of primer are sprayed on the set-piece.
3.10.3.8 After applying the primer, the set-piece must first be left to dry properly.
3.10.3.9 Colour spray paint must be applied next. Ensure that three layers of paint are sprayed on
the set-pieces.
3.10.3.10 Where more than one colour needs to be sprayed to a set-piece, ensure that no over
spraying takes place.
3.10.3.11 The following Dulux Duco (or equivalent to approval) paint must be used for the spray of
set-pieces:
� Primer
� Aerosol Matt Black Paint
� Aerosol Matt White Paint
� Aerosol HG Black Paint
� Aerosol Appliance White Paint
� Aerosol HG Royal Blue Paint
� Aerosol HG Signal Red Paint
� Aerosol HG Yellow Paint
� Aerosol HG Green Paint
� Aerosol HG Brown Paint
3.10.3.12 The set-pieces must be left to dry properly.
3.10.3.13 As soon as the spray paint is dry on the set-pieces it must be inspected by the City of Cape
Town Electricity Services to see if the spray paint is done properly.
