4.3.5 Functional principle of diaphragm leakagedetectionPumps with diaphragm leakage detection (MLS)have a special dosing head flange for anoptoelectronic sensor. The pump is supplied with thediaphragm leakage sensor (MLS) already installed.The optoelectronic sensor contains:• infrared transmitter• infrared receiver.TM03 6216 4506Fig. 6 Diaphragm leakage sensor (MLS)If the diaphragm leaks,• the liquid enters the dosing head flange.• the light refraction changes.• the sensor emits a signal.The electronics operates two contacts, which can beused, for example, to trigger an alarm signal or toswitch off the pump.4.3.6 Flow Monitor for dosing controlThe pressure sensor (Flow Monitor pump option) isused as a dosing controller and to monitor thepressure for the whole power ranges.The Flow Monitor for dosing control consists of apressure sensor integrated in the dosing head.The pressure sensor is available as Flow Monitorpump option. The pressure sensor is fitted to thepump on delivery. Upgrades are not possible.NotePressure control is primarily used toprotect the pump.
