Emission System WarrantyU.S. EPA Emissions Control Warranty StatementEmissions control-related parts and components arewarranted by <strong>John</strong> <strong>Deere</strong> for five years or 3000 hoursof operation, whichever occurs first. <strong>John</strong> <strong>Deere</strong> furtherwarrants that the engine covered by this warranty wasdesigned, built, and equipped so as to conform at thetime of sale with all U.S. emissions standards at thetime of manufacture, and that it is free of defects inmaterials and workmanship which would cause it notto meet these standards within the period of five yearsor 3000 hours of operation, whichever occurs first.Warranties stated in this manual refer only t<strong>oem</strong>issions-related parts and components of yourengine. The complete engine warranty, lessemissions-related parts and components, is providedseparately as the “<strong>John</strong> <strong>Deere</strong> New Off-HighwayEngine Warranty”.OUOD006,000004E–19–01NOV06–1/1Emissions Control System Certification LabelCAUTION: Statutes providing severe penaltiesfor tampering with emissions controls mayapply to the user or dealer.The emissions warranty described above applies only tothose engines marketed by <strong>John</strong> <strong>Deere</strong> that have beencertified by the United States Environmental ProtectionAgency (EPA) and/or California Air Resources Board(CARB), and used in the United States and Canada. Thepresence of an emissions label like the one shownsignifies that the engine has been certified with the EPAand/or CARB. The EPA and CARB warranties only applyto new engines having the certification label affixed to theengine and sold as stated above in the geographic areas.The presence of an EU number in the third line of thelabel signifies that the engine has been certified with theEuropean Union countries per Directive 97/68/EC. Theemissions warranty does not apply to the EU countries.Emissions LabelRG11940 –UN–17OCT01NOTE: The hp/kW rating on the engine emissionscertification label specifies the gross enginehp/kW, which is flywheel power without fan.
