Tighten all connections beforeapplying pressure. Keep hands and body awayfrom pinholes and nozzles which eject fluidsunder high pressure. Use a piece of cardboardor paper to search for leaks. Do not use yourhand.If any fluid is injected into the skin, it must besurgically removed within a few hours by adoctor familiar with this type injury or gangrenemay result. Doctors unfamiliar with this type ofinjury may call the Deere & Company MedicalDepartment in Moline, Illinois, or otherknowledgeable medical source.1. Close fuel shut-off valve, if equipped.2. Thoroughly clean fuel filter assemblies and surroundingarea.NOTE: Perform the following steps on each fuel filter.High-Pressure FluidsDual Fuel Filters (Final Filter at Left, Primary Filter with Bowl atRight)RG13543 –UN–21JUL04X9811 –UN–23AUG883. Loosen drain plug (C) and drain fuel into a suitablecontainer.NOTE: Lifting up on retaining ring as it is rotated helps toget it past raised locators.A—Retaining RingB—Filter ElementC—Drain PlugD—Bleed Plug4. Firmly grasp the retaining ring (A) and rotate itclockwise 1/4 turn (when viewed from top). Removering with filter element (B).5. Inspect filter mounting base for cleanliness. Clean asrequired.6. On primary filter with water separator, remove filterelement from water separator bowl. Drain and cleanseparator bowl. Dry with compressed air. Install waterseparator bowl onto new element.
