Sciences Cutting Edge 85I was one of the lucky people. I had been in the reservesand went to Officers Candidate School while Iwas still in college. I was slated to get my commissionin 1958. But in the summer of 1957, Sputnik went upand Congress passed a law that anyone in a technicalfield who was slated to go on active duty could remainin graduate school. So I went to a year and a half ofgraduate school and got my Lieutenant Junior Gradeby the time I went on active duty.
