6.6 Transition from Overhead to <strong>Underground</strong>When transitioning from overhead conductors to underground conductors, the PowerCompany will identify the appropriate location where the conduit riser shall be,relative to the pole. The nearest edge of the conduit sweep should be eight inchesfrom the pole. If a riser already exists on the pole, the new riser shall be attachedsuch that the new riser is parallel to the existing riser.<strong>Procedure</strong>8”The sweep is to be 8” from the pole. The Power Company willdecide the location of riser on the pole and mark it so the customerknows where to install the riser base.Figure 6.6.1 – Riser 8” from Pole8”Sometimes a bracket is installed to assist the customer withplacement of the riser sweep and support the sweep until the riseris built.
