This document covers mostapplications. This manual cannot address every possible situation. Consult thePower Company for solutions to unique circumstances to meet the intents of thismanual.If additional information is required, or if the customer is not sure how to apply theseguidelines, they should contact the Power Company at 1−888−221−7070 or via theinternet at www.rockymountainpower.net.1.2 Changes or Conflicts in RequirementsThis manual is written with the intent to comply with all applicable codes, ordinances,and tariffs, as well as to implement common practices throughout the PowerCompany’s service territory. Common practices are implemented to:• meet or exceed minimum safety codes and municipal building ordinances,• ensure fair and impartial requirements for all customers,• use safe work procedures by following established Power Company standards,and• facilitate the privacy and security of current and future customers andoccupants.If a requirement in this manual conflicts with an applicable tariff, code, or ordinance,then other Power Company standards shall be used to design a solution that meets(or exceeds) the minimum requirements of the tariff, code, or ordinance. The PowerCompany will provide the standards, and should be consulted with questions on theapplicability of any item in this manual.Where this document differs from the Power Company’s Six-State Electric ServiceRequirements manual regarding primary and secondary installations this documentshall prevail.1.3 Definitions<strong>Conduit</strong> <strong>System</strong>sClosed <strong>Conduit</strong> <strong>System</strong>: A closed conduit system consists of conduit in a trenchterminating in vaults. All 600-ampere systems require (and some non-typical 200-ampere systems may require) a closed conduit system.Open <strong>Conduit</strong> <strong>System</strong>: An open conduit system consists of conduit in atrench terminating in open pad boxes or flat-pads. Typically, most 200-ampere (amp) systems will be built as an open conduit system.Equipment Bases: Equipment bases include pad boxes, padvaults, flat pads, andsecondary boxes.
