<strong>Procedure</strong>Sweep too close to the pole.7 Equipment Bases – General InformationFigure 6.6.3 - Riser Too Close to Pole7.1 Site SelectionThe site shall be inspected prior to selecting the equipment base or determining theinstallation details. The job sketch and associated documents should clearly identifyeach equipment base and location. The Power Company is responsible to design thejob and determine the location of the equipment; however, input from the customer isvaluable. Customer input will be reviewed and, if possible, incorporated into thedesign prior to the final design. The following items should be included in theinspection and accounted for in the job design:• Soil class. Soil stability shall be determined and recommendations made onshoring or sloping requirements.• Water table. Precautions should be taken to prevent any flooding affectingcustomer-owned equipment in adjacent structures or properties.• Frost considerations: Consideration shall be given to local ground and frostconditions such that the installation remains structurally sound.• Final grade. If the final grade has not yet been established, measures shall bemade to allow for anticipated grade changes.
