Surfer 8 software(Surfer 8, 2002) was further usedon personal computer to produce 3-dimensionalview of Overburden isopachmap, overburden anisotropic coefficientmap, weathered layer isothickness map,weathered layer isoresistivity map,weathered layer transverse resistancemap, and bedrock relief map in orderto evaluate the groundwater potentialof the study area. Surfer 8 program issoftware that helps to produce 2-Dimensionaland 3-Dimensional images.Geoelectric layers parameters was inputinto this software to produce 3-Dimensionalimages of subsurface in order todetermine the groundwater potential ofindustrial estate Ogbomoso.Figure 2. The groundwater potential evaluation at industrial estate Ogbomoso, ...373Results and discussionThe presence of groundwater in anyrock presupposes the satisfaction of twofactors: adequate porosity and adequatepermeability. On account of their crystallinenature, the metamorphic and igneousrocks of the Basement Complexsatisfy neither of these requirements.Basement complex rocks are thus consideredto be poor aquifers because oftheir low primary porosity and permeabilitynecessary for groundwater accumulation(Davis & De Weist, 1966).However, secondary porosity and permeabilityimposed on them by fracturing,fissuring, jointing, and weatheringthrough which water percolates makethem favourable for groundwater storage(Omorinbola, 1979).Figure 3(a).
