Physicotechnical substantiation of parameters of blasting operations in deep ...393physicotechnical properties of rockschanging with mining depth, applicableblasting explosives (BE), seismicload of bulk blasts on safety of pitwalls, engineering structures and services,integrity of the ore-hosting solidand mine openings with involvementinto combined open-and-undergroundmining of ores deposited beyond the finalpit boundary near the pit edges andunder the pit bottom, when the openings(adits, inclined shafts and etc.)may be driven from the exhausted areaof the pit.Meanwhile, having analyzed the currentstatus of drilling and blasting systemallowing for regularities of changein the rock solid blastability as excavationdepth of Muruntau and Kalmakyropen pits increases, it has been determinedthat [1] :• known methodology for calculationof blasting parameters for therock solid in deep open pits doesnot fully ensure the required qualityof rock breaking;• there are no criteria of effectivenessof applicable emulsion BEusing low-price components manufacturedin the Republic of Uzbekistan;• known procedures of blasting andbreaking of rock mass are insufficientto increase completeness ofmineral extraction;• known DBO parameters designmethods do not fully meet specifiedcriteria and limitations to ensureprotection of the pit near-edge solidand engineering structures fromseismic load of blasting;• methodology used for calculationof parameters of safe protective pillarbetween open pit bottom and undergroundmine openings underestimatesseismicity of the near zonebeing of great importance duringconcurrent open-and-undergroundmining of deposits;• existing safety systems in productionand application of BE withcontrolled energy in deep open pitsdo not ensure safety of operationsto the full.Thus, assessment of DBO for opencastmining of deposits up to the utmosteconomically expedient level showsthat improvement of effectiveness ofdrilling and blasting system and optimizationof parameters of DBO processesis feasible through:• effectiveness of explosive breakingand displacement of rock mass;• development of formulation withcheaper and more high-energyemulsion BE using ingredientsmanufactured in Uzbekistan, whichcharacteristics suit the broken rockto the full;• development of blasting proceduresenabling to improve quality of rockmass breaking and to enhance completenessof commercial mineralextraction;<strong>RMZ</strong>-M&G 2012, 59
