• • • • •RSVIEW SUPERVISORY EDITION USER’S GUIDESetting up access to HMI project components in <strong>RSView</strong><strong>RSView</strong> manages run-time security for HMI project components, including <strong>RSView</strong>commands and macros, graphic displays, OLE objects, and HMI tags.These are the tasks involved in setting up security for HMI project components:• Add users stored at FactoryTalk Directory to the <strong>RSView</strong> Users Accounts list, andassign security codes to these users.• Assign security codes to the HMI project components.The following illustration shows where to perform these tasks, in <strong>RSView</strong> Studio:In the Security Settingsdialog box opened from the<strong>RSView</strong> User Accountseditor, add user and groupaccounts stored at theFactoryTalk Directory, andthen assign security codesto them.In the <strong>RSView</strong> SecuredCommands editor, assignsecurity codes to <strong>RSView</strong>commands and macros.In the Tags and Graphicseditors, assign securitycodes to HMI tags, graphicdisplays, and OLE objectverbs.Only users assigned the necessary security code (or codes) can issue secured commands,open secured graphic displays, or write to secured HMI tags, as shown in the followingexample:Example – Setting up access to HMI project componentsIn the <strong>RSView</strong> User Accounts editor, the following groups of users are set up with thesesecurity codes:• A Supervisors group is allowed security codes A through P.• An Operators group is allowed security codes B, C, and E.• A Visitors group is allowed security code B.HMI project components are set up with the following security codes:15-22
