9 PLC Setup9-1 Overview of the PLC SetupThe PLC Setup contains basic CPU Unit software parameter settings that the user can change to customizePLC operation. These settings can be changed from a Programming Console or other ProgrammingDevice. Change the PLC Setup in the following cases.ApplicationThe input response time settings for CJ-series Basic I/OUnits must be changed in the following cases:• Chattering or noise occur in Basic I/O Units.• Short pulse inputs are being received for intervals longerthan the cycle time.Data in all regions of I/O Memory (including the CIO Area,Work Areas, Timer Flags and PVs, Task Flags, Index Registers, and Data Registers) must be retained when the PLC'spower is turned on.The status of bits that are force-set or force-reset from a ProgrammingDevice must be retained when the PLC's power isturned ON.• Debugging the PLC,• Changing the Startup Mode to PROGRAM or MONITORmode.Detection of low-battery errors is not required when usingbattery-free operation.Disabling detection of duplicate refreshing. The RS-232C port will not be used with the ProgrammingConsole or CX-Programmer (peripheral bus) communicationsspeed auto-detection and will not use the default hostlink communications settings such as 9,600 bps. *1You want to speed up communications with a PT via an NTLink.ParameterBasic I/O Unit Rack Response TimeIOM Hold Bit Status at StartupForced Status Hold Bit Status at StartupStartup ModeDetect Low BatteryDetect Duplicate Refresh ErrorsRS-232C Port SettingsSet the peripheral port or the RS-232C port communicationsport baud rate to “high-speed NTLink.”You want the intervals for scheduled interrupt function to be Scheduled Interrupt Time Unitsset in units of 1 ms (or 0.1 ms) rather than 10 ms.You want to use high-speed interrupt function for an I/O interruptEnable High-speed Interrupt Functiontask or scheduled interrupt task. You want to use the synchronous unit operation function.
