110 DISCOURSESwhich is the world of shadows. As phenomena, they aresubject to change, and nothing that changes can have lastingThe only thing thatmattersvalue. Realisation of the eternal Truth is aninitiation into the unchangeable Being,which is the supreme Reality; and noacquaintance with the occult world or capacity to manipulate itsforces can really amount to realisation of the Truth. Occultphenomena are as much within the domain of false imagination asare ordinary phenomena of the gross world. From the spiritualpoint of view the only important thing is to realise the Divine Lifeand help others to realise it by manifesting it in every-dayhappenings. To penetrate into the essence of all being andsignificance and to release the fragrance of that inner attainmentfor the guidance and benefit of others, by expressing, in the worldof forms, truth, love, purity and beauty—this is the sole gamewhich has intrinsic and absolute worth. All other happenings,incidents and attainments in themselves can have no lastingimportance.
