For the generality of aspirants,meditation through reading has hardly anysuitable substitute, because it starts fromwritten expositions which are available at any convenient time.Meditation which starts from reading about revealed Truths hasthis special advantage of being easily accessible to most aspirants.Meditation through reading is explained in Section B and isprovided for in Section C.SECTION BReading as MeditationMeditation through reading has its handicaps, because mostwritten expositions of the Divine Truths are meant for intellectualstudy rather than for assimilation through meditation. The diffi-Usual handicaps inmeditation throughreadingculties which aspirants experience in thisconnection are due either (i) to the fact thatthe method of meditation is not adapted tothe subject-matter, or (ii) to some flaw in themethod which makes it mechanical and uninspiring, or (iii) to theunwieldiness or vagueness of the subject-matter of meditation.All these causes, which vitiate meditation and make itunsuccessful, have been avoided in the specific meditation whichis recommended in this part. It is intended not only to explain theDifficulties removedby specific meditationthrough readingmanner of carrying on meditation throughreading, but also to provide an expositionof Divine Truth in order to fulfill therequirements of this form of meditation.The usual difficulties existing in meditation through readinghave been removed in this specific meditation by (i) ensuringthat the process of meditation as well as the subject-matterare adapted to each
