AppendixNotes on softwareRights of use and copyLegal notes in the setup program for new software productsAll software products are supplied with a common noticeregarding license conditions.The license conditions are included either with the documentationor with the software packaging. If the software is purchasedover the Internet, the license agreement will appear on thescreen before the order is processed and must be accepted bythe user before the product can be downloaded.Attention:This software is protected by German and/or US copyright lawsand international agreements. The unauthorized copying or saleof this software is a criminal offense. Offenders will be subject toboth criminal and civil proceedings, resulting in severe penaltiesand/or claims for damages.Before installing and using the software, please read the applicablelicense conditions, which you will find in the documentationor packaging.If your copy of the software has been provided on a CD marked"Trial Version" or together with a licensed software product, thesoftware may only be used for test and validation purposes inaccordance with the conditions for the Trial License. Programs,software libraries, etc. must be installed on your computer. Forthis reason, we strongly recommend that you install the softwareon a stand-alone machine or on a machine that is not used in theproduction process or to store important data, as existing datacould be modified or overwritten. We can take no responsibilityfor any damages and/or loss of data resulting from softwareinstallation or non-compliance with this warning.Use of this software without obtaining a valid license fromSiemens is expressly prohibited. If you do not have a validlicense and a corresponding Certificate of License/softwareproduct certificate, please terminate the installation processimmediately and contact a Siemens subsidiary without delay toavoid claims for damages.Software maintenance serviceIf you intend to maintain the most up-to-date version of your software,you can take out a software maintenance service contract.This service ensures that you will automatically be sent the mostrecent software updates, which will be released for deliveryonce the contract for the associated software product has beenconcluded.This service can be used for single licenses and/or copy licensesand applies to all registered software products.The software maintenance service is purchased individually foreach software product to be maintained and is valid for oneyear. Before the year end, you will be notified of the service contracttermination options in writing. If the service contract has notbeen terminated four weeks before the year end, the existingcontract will be extended for one more year.OrderingAn order number is required for the software maintenance service.The software maintenance service can be ordered at the sametime as the software products or at a later date. If it is ordered ata later date, you must be in possession of at least one singlelicense.NoteYou are advised to take out the software maintenance servicecontract as early as possible. If a new version of a software productis released for delivery by Siemens, only customers registeredin a corresponding supply list at that time will receive theproduct automatically.Earlier software versions and the current software version are notcovered by the software maintenance service contract. A preconditionof every software maintenance contract is that the customeris in possession of the current version of the softwareproduct when the contract is taken out.DeliveryWhen you order a software maintenance service contract, youwill receive the contractual terms and conditions for this service.Payment is due at this point.
