Chapter 2 Using <strong>ExpressCluster</strong>What is <strong>ExpressCluster</strong>?<strong>ExpressCluster</strong> is software that enhances availability and expandability of systems by a redundant(clustered) system configuration. The application services running on the active server areautomatically inherited to a standby server when an error occurs in the active server.<strong>ExpressCluster</strong> modules<strong>ExpressCluster</strong> consists of following three modules:<strong>ExpressCluster</strong> ServerA core component of <strong>ExpressCluster</strong>. Includes all high availability function of the server. Theserver function of the WebManager is also included.<strong>ExpressCluster</strong> X WebManager (WebManager)A tool to manage <strong>ExpressCluster</strong> operations. Uses a Web browser as a user interface. TheWebManager is installed in <strong>ExpressCluster</strong> Server, but it is distinguished from the<strong>ExpressCluster</strong> Server because the WebManager is operated from the Web browser on themanagement PC.<strong>ExpressCluster</strong> X Builder (Builder)A tool <strong>for</strong> editing the cluster configuration data. The Builder also uses Web browser as a userinterface. The following two versions of Builder are provided: the offline version, which isinstalled on your terminal as software independent of <strong>ExpressCluster</strong> Server, and the onlineversion, which is opened by clicking the setup mode icon on the WebManager screen toolbaror Setup Mode on the View menu.
