Hands-on Workshops<br />

Learning objectives:<br />

1. To learn indications, advantages, limitations and<br />

controversial issues (e.g. cytology vs histology)<br />

in percutaneous imaging-guided biopsy of<br />

breast lesions under stereotactic, US and MRI<br />

guidance.<br />

2. To learn how to perform breast biopsy under US<br />

guidance.<br />

3. To learn how to perform breast biopsy under<br />

stereotactic guidance.<br />

4. To learn the potential advantages and limits of<br />

MR guided biopsy.<br />

5. To learn which technique should be preferably<br />

used (automated large core needles or directional<br />

vacuum-assisted biopsy probes).<br />

Registration:<br />

The number of participants at the workshops is<br />

limited. Pre-registrations have been arranged<br />

according to the order in which they were received.<br />

Registration is possible onsite, though all seats may<br />

be occupied by then. Please register at the meeting<br />

point for room W (hands-on: X-ray) and/or in front<br />

of room U (hands-on: US) 20 minutes before the<br />

sessions begin. Please note that an extra fee of<br />

€ 30,– per participant is charged for this workshop.<br />

Attendance at the lecture session on Saturday<br />

morning is mandatory to participate in the two preregistered<br />

hands-on workshops.<br />

The meeting point for room W (hands-on: X-ray) is in<br />

front of the Congress Office. Participants are asked<br />

to be there 20 minutes before the sessions begin.<br />
