C. Occult bone trauma
F.M.H.M. Vanhoenacker; Antwerp/BE
Learning Objectives:
1. To familiarise the radiologist with the general mechanisms of injury causing occult bone trauma.
2. To discuss how the mechanism of the acute injury can be determined by systematic analysis of the
distribution of bone marrow changes and associated soft tissue lesions.
3. To defi ne the imaging technique of choice for detection and staging of occult bone trauma.
Volumetric HRCT of diffuse lung diseases
Moderator: L. Bonomo; Rome/IT
A-442 08:30
A. Technical and dose considerations in imaging ILD
D. Tack, P. Gevenois; Brussels/BE
Learning Objectives:
1. To defi ne HRCT technique and detail how it is generated using volumetric MDCT acquisitions for the
diagnosis of ILD.
2. To learn how CT and patients biometric parameters infl uence the radiation exposure of volumetric HRCT.
3. To compare the radiation dose of volumetric HRCT and low-dose sequential HRCT and to learn how to
optimise the radiation dose of volumetric MDCT.
A-443 09:00
B. Environmental and occupational diseases
M.L. Storto; Chieti/IT
Learning Objectives:
1. To illustrate typical patterns of environmental and occupational diseases at CT.
2. To discuss the potential role of volumetric HRCT for a better understanding of distribution of both
parenchymal and pleural abnormalities and a better evaluation of air-trapping.
3. To become familiar with environmental and occupational malignancies.
A-444 09:30
C. Collagen vascular diseases
S.R. Desai; London/UK
Learning Objectives:
1. To appreciate the wide and mixed range of lung disease in patients with collagen vascular diseases.
2. To recognise the imaging features (specifi cally those on thin-section CT) of lung disease in collagen
vascular disease.
3. To understand the relationship between macroscopic appearance, histopathologic patterns, and CT
fi ndings.
