Tips and Tricks in Radiofrequency Ablation

The workshop will be held in two sessions of 90
minutes each and is limited to a maximum of 30
participants per session. A theoretical introduction
of 45 minutes covers tips and tricks:
Case presentations to teach how to
1. Target lesions in difficult locations
2. Improve the outcome of the procedure
3. Prevent or decrease the chance of
complications
This will be followed by a 45 minutes hands-on
part dealing with ultrasound-guided ablations in
cow livers by using different RF generators and
electrodes.

Hands-on Workshops
Learning objectives:
1. To describe approaches and methods that can
improve outcome or decrease the chance of
complications in liver, lung, kidney and bone RF
ablation.
2. To learn how to handle different equipment and
electrodes available for RF ablation.
3. By the end of the workshop the participants
should have a good understanding of the
spectrum of RF techniques and be aware of
some key clues for proper clinical application.
Each attendee will receive a certificate of
attendance.
Registration:
The number of participants at the workshops
is limited. Pre-registrations have been arranged
according to the order in which they were received.
Registration is possible onsite, though all seats may
be occupied by then. Please register in front of room
Z, 20 minutes before the sessions begin. Please
note that an extra fee of € 30,– per participant is
charged for this workshop.
Participants are asked to meet in front of room Z,
10 minutes before the sessions begin.
