ECR Information from A – Z
Scientific Programme Planner / Abstract Viewer
All ECR 2007 abstracts can be accessed online via
the Scientific Programme Planner tool on the ECR
website. This easy-to-use tool allows you to explore
the entire scientific and educational programme by
session types, topics and dates. You can also search
for abstract texts, authors and abstract titles.
In addition, the system offers a user-friendly feature
to create your personal time schedule for the
upcoming meeting, either for printout or upload to
your PDA. It is very easy to customise your schedule
for ECR 2007!
Security / Safety
The safety of all congress attendees is of utmost
importance to the European Congress of Radiology.
The Austrian Center Vienna and the ECR have
taken security precautions to ensure the maximum
possible safety for all ECR participants. Please
inform our staff, especially our room attendants,
immediately in case security problems occur.
In addition, the ECR reserves the right to check
your identification upon admission to the congress
centre and/or inside the building. You may be asked
at any time to present adequate proof of identity
by showing either your passport, driver’s licence,
national or military identification, or student ID, all
with photograph and signature.
Smoking
Smoking is not permitted inside the Austria Center
Vienna. The ECR is a non-smoking congress. Outside
the building, we kindly ask you to use the ashtrays
provided.
Society Booths
Around 60 national and international radiological
societies present their meetings and societies within
the society booths area, which is located on the
entrance level, next to the registration desks and in
front of Foyer E and Foyer F.
Society Suites
Each of the main ECR topics will be represented
with a room provided to the respective subspecialty
societies. These rooms are intended as meeting
places and communication centres where
radiologists specialised in a certain field of interest
can get together and have professional discussions
and private meetings off the hectic congress life.
Computers with access to internet as well as access
to EPOS will be available.
For the locations of individual society suites, please
refer to the floor plan (2 nd level).
Special Assistance
Delegates with special needs may park on the lower
level as well as on the square in front of the main
entrance where wheelchair access is possible. With
the exception of rooms B and C on the 2 nd level
(where a ramp is provided), all lecture rooms have a
flat entrance and are accessible by wheelchair.
Special Exhibition
In compliance with ECR’s tradition of offering its
delegates an ambitious supporting programme at
the annual congress, ECR is proud to present again
an exhibition by Prof. Vogel from Hamburg/DE in
cooperation with the German Röntgenmuseum.
This year’s exhibit is headed ‘Travel. Transport.
Terrorism.’ and is presented on the 1 st level opposite
Room R1.
Special Focus Sessions
The concept of a Special Focus Session is to deal
with a topic at the cutting edge of development and
clinical application. A traditional didactic approach
is inappropriate for such a session, which should
reflect the lecturer’s forthright personal views on
a developing subject. The topics of these sessions
should be presented in such a way so as to
promote debate, or to give an in-depth analysis.
The chairman will introduce each aspect of the topic
and the panellists will then discuss their different
perspectives and opinions. The audience will have the
opportunity to discuss their ideas with the lecturers.
Attendance places will be allocated on a first-come,
first-served basis. Please refer to pages 86-90 for
the programme of the sessions.
