pain
Moderator: U. Hoffmann; Boston, MA/US
The potential role of MDCT in the triage of patients with acute chest pain (Introduction)
U. Hoffmann; Boston, MA/US
Session Objectives:
1. To describe rationale and clinical indications for cardiac CT imaging in the emergency room.
2. To explain the CT protocol for the detection of coronary artery stenosis (including the rule out of
pulmonary embolism and aortic dissection).
3. To identify normal and pathologic fi ndings of the coronary arteries, myocardium and paracardial
structures.
4. To assess the diagnostic value of CT to rule out acute coronary syndrome.
A-061 16:05
Clinical presentation, risk stratifi cation and differential diagnosis of patients with acute chest pain
A.N. Laggner; Vienna/AT
Learning Objectives:
1. To describe the current standard to risk stratify patients with acute chest pain.
2. To identify the value and limitations of using the clinical presentation to triage patients with chest pain.
3. To provide an overview of the most important differential diagnosis in patients with acute chest pain.
A-062 16:30
MDCT imaging protocols in patients with acute chest pain
N.R. Mollet; Rotterdam/NL
Learning Objectives:
1. To introduce the dedicated CT protocol for coronary MDCT.
2. To provide an overview of the postprocessing to detect coronary stenosis and plaque as well as LV
function.
3. To introduce the triple rule out protocol and to identify potential pitfalls and technical challenges of this
approach.
A-063 16:55
CT fi ndings in patients with acute chest pain and implications for patient management
U. Hoffmann; Boston, MA/US
Learning Objectives:
1. To introduce and interpretate MDCT fi ndings in patients with a coronary course of chest pain.
2. To review the accuracy and reproducibility of coronary MDCT for the detection of stenosis and plaque.
3. To interpretate MDCT fi ndings in patients with chest pain but no acute coronary syndromes.
