Claim CME at ECR 2007<br />

General Information<br />

• Each ECR delegate receives a confirmation of the<br />

attended activities.<br />

• The maximum of hours to attend at scientific<br />

activities is 40 (please note that this number<br />

differs from the maximum number of UEMS/<br />

EACCME credits).<br />

CME ACCREDITATION<br />

Europe<br />

The ECR – European Congress of Radiology 2007 is<br />

accredited by the European Accreditation Council for<br />

Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) to provide<br />

the following CME activity for medical specialists.<br />

The EACCME is an institution of the European Union<br />

of Medical Specialists (UEMS), www.uems.net.<br />

The ECR 2007 is designated for a maximum of<br />

27 hours of European external CME credits. Each<br />

medical specialist should claim only those hours of<br />

credit that he/she actually spent in the educational<br />

activity. European Accreditation is granted by the<br />

EACCME in order to allow participants to validate<br />

the credits obtained at this activity in their home<br />

European country.<br />

The following countries are members of the UEMS:<br />

Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus,<br />

Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France,<br />

Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy,<br />

Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands,<br />

Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia,<br />

Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United<br />

Kingdom.<br />

USA<br />

The American Medical Association (AMA) has an<br />

agreement of mutual recognition of continuing<br />

medical education (CME) credits with the European<br />

Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS). Under the<br />

terms of this agreement, the AMA will convert<br />

CME credits certified by the European Accreditation<br />

Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME),<br />

the accrediting arm of the UEMS, to AMA PRA<br />

Category 1 Credits. Physicians (MDs, DOs or<br />

equivalent international degree) may have their<br />

EACCME credits converted to AMA PRA Category 1<br />

Credits by applying to the AMA.<br />

Worldwide<br />

CME claimed at the ECR are accepted by almost all<br />

national CME authorities worldwide.<br />

Austria<br />

The ECR is an accredited CME provider of the<br />

Austrian Medical Chamber. The Austrian Medical<br />

Chamber has granted a maximum of 40 DFP (Diplom-<br />

Fortbildungs-Programm der Österreichischen<br />

Akademie der Ärzte) credits for ECR 2007.<br />

Germany<br />

Austrian CME credits (DFP-Punkte) earned during<br />

this meeting are recognized by all German Medical<br />

Chambers 1:1. The key for converting CME hours<br />

into DFP credits is as follows: DFP Credits = number<br />

of hours x 60 / 45. The maximum number of DFP<br />

credits to be earned at ECR 2007 is 40.
