K-FLEX CLAD ® TAPE AL TECHNICAL INFORMATIONMade in <strong>USA</strong>DESCRIPTIONK-FLEX Clad ® Tape - AL is speciallydesigned to complement the K-FLEX Clad ®AL line of products. Offered in 2”, 4”,6” or 8” widths, the tape has a similarcomposition to the K-FLEX Clad ® AL Tubeor Sheet. It provides a quick, easy anduniform way to complete a sealing system.The surface of the tape is comprised ofa plastic sheet laminated to alumniumfoil, providing a moisture vapor barrierover seams and edges of K-FLEX Clad ® ALapplications.Ideal for outdoor applications, the smoothand shiny surface is tough enough todeliver weather and abuse resistance, aswell as protection from UV rays.The surface is also easy to clean andmaintain, resistant to impact/traffic (doesnot dent like traditional metal), acids,alkali, salts, oil, fats, and aliphatic hydrocarbons,and is highly impermeable togases and moisture, ensuring the integrityof the insulation system. A rubber-basedadhesive adheres firmly and forms a longlastingbond.APPLICATIONSAfter K-FLEX Clad ® AL Sheet has beenapplied to insulate pipes, equipment or airhandling systems, K-FLEX Clad ® Tape - ALshould be applied over all seams andunfinished edges to prevent water intrusion.A 2” wide tape is recommended forseams, while a wider tape is recommendedfor edges and corners (see chart below),folded to cover both sides. It provides a quick, easy and uniformway to complete a sealing system.The surface of the tape is comprised of awhite composite PVC/Mylar ® film, providinga moisture vapor barrier over seams andedges of K-FLEX Clad ® WT applications.The smooth, tough surface deliversweather and abuse resistance, as wellas protection from UV rays.
