These limitations are described in the encoding procedures, and inSection 12.3.1.The SGTIN consists of the following elements:The GS1 Company Prefix, assigned by GS1 to a managing entity or its delegates.This is the same as the GS1 Company Prefix digits within a GS1 GTIN key. SeeSection 7.1.2 for the case of a GTIN-8.3 As specified in Section 7.1, the serial number in the SGTIN is currently defined to be equivalent to AI 21in the GS1 General Specifications.
