These limitations are described in the encoding procedures, and inSection 12.3.1.The SGTIN consists of the following elements:The <strong>GS1</strong> Company Prefix, assigned by <strong>GS1</strong> to a managing entity or its delegates.This is the same as the <strong>GS1</strong> Company Prefix digits within a <strong>GS1</strong> GTIN key. SeeSection 7.1.2 for the case of a GTIN-8.3 As specified in Section 7.1, the serial number in the SGTIN is currently defined to be equivalent to AI 21in the <strong>GS1</strong> General Specifications.
