SITUATION ANAlySIS of ChIldreN in UgANdASTATISTICAl ABSTrACTviTAM in A SUppLeMenTATiOnThe percentage of children under five receiving vitamin Asupplements increased from 36% in 2006 to 57% in 2011.Almost three in every five children aged 6–59 months (57%) received vitamin Asupplements in the six months preceding the 2011 UDHS.Vitamin A supplementation was lowest in Central 1 (36%) region followed byCentral 2 and South-West (each 44%) and highest in Karamoja (74%).There was no significant variation in vitamin A supplementation among childrenon the basis of gender or residence.There was no definite pattern of variation in vitamin A intake between differentlevels of wealth group.
