<strong>Situation</strong> <strong>analySiS</strong> of Children in uganda 2015male-headed households have a higher risk of dropping out of school than those who live infemale-headed households (MoGLSD, 2014b).Because secondary school enrolment figures remain extremely low, they only give a pictureof a minority of secondary school-aged girls and boys. Table 5 provides a regional breakdownof girls’ (aged 15–19 years) education status. Between all regions, Karamoja has the highestproportion of girls who are not in school and/or have never been to school. Additionally, theNorth, West Nile, and Western regions have the lowest proportions of girls who are in schooland at grade for age.
