15.4 Verifying WatermarkThe watermark is an encrypted and digital signature embedded in thevideo stream during the compression stage, protecting the video from themoment of creation. Watermarking ensures that an image is not edited ordamaged after it is recorded. To enable the watermark function, see[Watermark Setting], 13.1.1 Video Settings.The Watermark Proof is a watermark-checking program. It can verify theauthenticity of the recording before you present it in court.288
15Advanced Applications15.4.1 Accessing AVI FilesTo verify watermark, first you have to access the recorded AVI files by oneof these methods:1. Use the File Save function (No.6, Figure 12-3) to start recording onthe local computer.2. Use the Act as FTP Server function to download AVI files from the<strong>GV</strong>-IPCAM <strong>H.264</strong>. See 13.3.2 FTP.3. Use the files recorded on the memory card. Since the files saved onthe memory card are of Linux file system, remember to run IFSDrives from the Software CD to convert the Linux-based files toWindows-based files. For the instructions, see Steps 1 to 2 in 14.2.1Playback Using the Memory Card.289
