The tenth Aldeburgh Food and Drink Festival smashes records...
Record numbers of guests headed to Snape
Maltings during September, as it hosted the
tenth Aldeburgh Food and Drink Festival.
Visitors to Suffolk were able to sample some
of the mouth-watering delights on offer at the
seaside town’s food and drink festival.
Final numbers are yet to be confirmed but
organisers have said that the number of
people passing through the gates for the twoday
event had exceeded 8,000.
The festival was hailed a ‘food lover’s
paradise’.
Our Bounce team popped along and had a
great time sampling and shopping around for
some of East Anglia’s tasty treats.
Firstly, (with the help of our mascot Archie)
we came across ‘Barkers of Suffolk’. Offering
tasty canine baked treats with messages such
as “I woof you”, we couldn’t resist treating our
Norfolk Terrier.
We also spotted our friends ‘Paddy and
Scott’s’ who were on hand with some caffeine
fixes, we bumped into co-owner Paddy
Bishopp getting stuck in at the event who
expressed the day so far had been very busy.
Also based locally were ‘Scarlett and Mustard’
who tickled our taste buds with a variety
of chutneys and sauces. We particularly
enjoyed the ‘Rudolphs Left Over Curry Sauce’
which will be perfect for leftover turkey
at Christmas! Speaking of Christmas, the
Cratfield farm were on hand with poultry
delights for the Christmas table.
A variety of cuisines were available including
authentic Malaysian cuisine, the ‘Walking Wok’
were serving up some delicious dishes and
we also loved the ‘Red Chilli Kitchen,’ simple
sauces but very tasty.
The festival has a great location at Snape.
You’ve got all the things that you see at
Snape anyway, boutique shops, collectors
centre, cafe. It’s very friendly and there’s
always different things to try.
THE FESTIVAL IS A NOT-FOR-PROFIT COMMUNITY INTEREST ORGANISATION
